If you’re looking to adopt a new animal, I stress that you look in to heading to Joplin, MO. Many, as much as 900 animals were left stranded with no homes. These animals need homes after going through such a horrid event. From newborn kittens, adult cats, Labs, Yorki’s, Bulldogs…. They all need homes and we at TexasChaser cannot stress enough how important animals are to us. These poor animals were thrown from a loving home to in the streets in a matter of seconds.
The adopt-a-thon will be held June 25th & 26th, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and is being sponsored by ASPCA and PetSmart Charities.
This will be a “fee-waived” event and you do not need to be a resident of Missouri to adopt. All animals will be spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, collared and ID tagged, current on all age appropriate vaccines, cats tested for FeLeuk & FIV, dogs for heartworm. Dogs will also be “SAFER” tested for aggression. There will be a “goodie-bag for all animals and a carrier for cats.
All adoptions will be on a first come basis at the adopt-a-thon on June 25th and 26th.
There are also tons of special needs animals that need homes. Animals with broken bones, bad eyes, etc. caused by the tornado.
